Materials Needed for the Unit

Materials for Lessons
- Access to the school's home economics room.
- Basic kitchen, cooking, and baking supplies.
- Measuring Cups
- Mixing Bowls
- Utensils
- "Safety" knives
- Baking pans
- Pots
- Flour, sugar, salt, vegetable oil, milk, eggs.
- Sponges and paper towels
- Fruit, microwave dinners, pasta, marinara sauce, boxed cake mixes, ingredients for bread, ingredients for cookies.
- Daily assessment sheets.
- Weekly assessment logs.
- Copies of lesson plans for each teaching assistant.
- Due to the nature of the disabilities presented by these students, significant assistive or augmented technology is not anticipated for this unit. If, over the course of the lessons, it is determined that students would benefit a student, here are several examples of assistive technology options that are available.
